Project Manager – Technology Delivery

• Lead one or more cross-functional initiatives from initiation through delivery, ensuring outcomes are achieved within agreed scope, schedule, cost, quality, and risk parameters.
• Translate product intent (roadmaps, objectives, epics) into an executable delivery approach: milestones, sequencing, dependencies, and release readiness.
• Drive delivery momentum across Engineering, Architecture, QA, Operations, and Business stakeholders, ensuring clarity of ownership, timely decisions, and removal of blockers.
• Ensure deliverables meet functional and non-functional requirements, including quality, security, compliance, and operational readiness (production supportability).
• Partner with Product Owners to ensure backlog readiness and clear acceptance criteria, while preserving product ownership of prioritisation and value decisions.
• Partner with Product Managers to align sequencing with roadmap intent and outcomes, making feasibility, constraints, and trade-offs explicit.
• Collaborate with Architecture, Operations, Security, and other functional leaders to co-design delivery approaches that cut across organisational boundaries and shared platform components.
• Act as a delivery thought partner to Product and functional leadership, providing grounded insight on complexity, integration impacts, capacity realities, and delivery options.
• Maintain clear visibility of project financials (budget, forecast, resource consumption, cost drivers), enabling transparent investment and prioritisation decisions.
• Apply SmartSea’s delivery governance pragmatically, ensuring governance enables delivery: maintain concise artefacts (delivery plan, RAID, dependency register, delivery and financial status) and keep them decision-relevant.
• Identify and manage project risks, issues, and dependencies; escalate early and constructively when trade-offs are required.
• Manage change in a controlled way, ensuring impacts on scope, cost, timeline, and value are understood before decisions are taken.
• Continuously improve delivery effectiveness: identify bottlenecks and systemic risks; use delivery insights/metrics to strengthen predictability, execution quality, and ways of working.
• Operate effectively within a hybrid Agile/structured delivery environment; balance agility with discipline and promote delivery ownership and transparency across internal teams and external delivery partners (including ODC teams).

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of experience in a Project Manager or delivery leadership role within technology-enabled environments.
• Proven experience delivering cross-functional initiatives involving product teams, engineering teams, and shared platform/service components.
• Experience operating in Agile or hybrid delivery models; exposure to product-centric or platform organisations is strongly preferred.
• Strong grounding in delivery fundamentals: scope, schedule, cost, quality, risk, dependencies, and release readiness.
• Strong financial and commercial awareness, with the ability to reason about cost, capacity, and value trade-offs.
• Strong delivery judgement and systems thinking, able to navigate ambiguity, competing priorities, and complex dependencies.
• Ability to operate as a peer to Product and functional leaders, influencing outcomes through insight, structure, and collaboration rather than authority.
• Clear and structured communicator, confident engaging with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, SAFe, PSM/PSPO, or similar, are advantageous.
