We are seeking a QA Engineer to contribute and execute our quality assurance strategy as we set out to digitally transform maritime operations. In this key role, you will define, implement, and execute a comprehensive QA strategy across all SmartSea applications. You will champion test automation, drive best practices, and build a full-scale QA function from the ground up—delivering quality and compliance in a fast-paced, high-impact, and regulated tech environment.
- Design, develop, and execute detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts (manual and automated).
- Lead end-to-end testing efforts, including functional, integration, regression, and performance testing.
- Collaborate with product managers, developers, and other QA engineers to understand requirements and deliver high-quality software.
- Develop and maintain test automation frameworks and integrate them into the CI/CD pipeline.
- Investigate, troubleshoot, and document defects and performance issues.
- Mentor junior QA engineers and promote best practices in testing and quality assurance.
- Participate in design and code reviews from a quality perspective.
- Ensure compliance with industry quality standards and security requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of experience in software quality assurance or testing roles.
- Strong understanding of modern software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Kanban).
- Proficient in test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, TestNG, JUnit).
- Experience with scripting or programming languages such as Python, Java, or JavaScript.
- Experience with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner, Gatling) would be a plus.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions.
- Familiarity with ITIL (Foundation certification or hands‑on use of Incident, Problem and Change processes) would be a plus.
- A proactive and ownership-driven mindset.
- Ability to work and drive results independently or as part of a cross-functional team in a collaborative manner.
- Excellent analytical, debugging, and communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Passion for product quality and user experience.
